Things To Do

With 26 wineries within minutes of our Inn, you have the opportunity to spend the day enjoying the fruits of the county. We partner with Glen Lake Shuttle who can organize transportation for larger groups, or talk to Graeme about tours for just the 2 of you.

There are many hiking trails throughout the county, that will allow you to explore off the beaten path. Maybe a day on the trails in Sleeping Bear Dunes is your cup of tea. “The Dune Climb” is something every kid at heart should experience. Once you’ve reached the summit, you can slide down to the picnic area or continue on a three mile hike along the dunes. One of my personal favorites is Pyramid Point. Take the short 0.7 miles hike and get one of the most spectacular vistas, anywhere.

Play any of the counties courses and you will not be disappointed. Whether your day takes you to Arnold Palmer designed, Manitou Passage or to beautiful Leelanau Club at Bahle’s Farms you are sure to have a great day.

Nothing quite says summer like a day at the beach. The Inn is located 5 minutes from lake Michigan and so many beaches it is hard to count. Ask Graeme and he is sure to point you in the right direction!

See our menu for a wide array of super yummy offerings. We highly recommend making a booking and offer live music on Thursdays and Fridays.

We have a full bar of local beers on tap and liquor and wine selection. Our pride and joy is our cask beer options as well as our highly extensive scotch collection. Come for a pint or dram.

About Your Innkeepers

Graeme, an accomplished cook, and sometimes, a darn-good dishwasher, and his family are thrilled to invite all to enjoy the warmth and culinary delights of Little Traverse Inn. Graeme along with his wife, Michelle; and their kids, Ciaran, Gemma and Beness, will no doubt entertain all with a song or two whether you stay for dinner or for a while.

Graeme has long dreamed of bringing the best of his homeland to the Leelanau peninsula. By putting the needs of their guests first at Little Traverse Inn, they will bring to you quality food, great beer, fine wines and spirits, and warm hospitality; all served up with good cheer in unpretentious yet warm surroundings.

Graeme grew up in the UK and Ireland spending his formative years developing a taste for the traditional flavors of the “Old Country” which have been recreated with a unique twist both in our Gastro Pub and Bed & Breakfast.

Graeme has lived in Michigan for the last 34 years and called Grand Rapids home for the best part of 20 years. Having traveled to the peninsula almost every summer as a visitor, he is now incredibly happy to call Leelanau County his home, and keen to share his joy of hospitality with all his guests.

Graeme shares the daily duties with his amazing wife, Michelle, an incredible staff and their, children Ciaran, Gemma, and Beness, who will no doubt make sure you have everything you need for an amazing visit.
